Back then

I just had a random memory.

When I was in the sixth grade, we had these people--I don't know who they were--come in and test us for placement in Honors English. I'm not sure if it was going to be for middle school or what. But I made it to one of the final rounds of testing when most everyone else had been cut. I didn't make it. I remember being disappointed but I forgot about it later. Sometimes, though, the memory resurfaces.

I've had instructors from high school (maybe before) and into college who complimented me on my writing skills. One professor even said I write "unusually well." Maybe back in grade school I hadn't had a chance to develop those skills. I think when I really started using the internet in middle school I started using computers more, and I started using them to write. I had been writing on paper before that but I find typing to be much easier on my hands. And I would rather use my hands to draw.

Well, I was going to end this with "screw them, look at me now," but it's like I said: I hadn't yet developed those writing skills yet.

And I'm not saying I'm really amazing at writing, if this entry isn't a testament to that (I don't care to be perfect on blogs). I've got a lot to learn.
